Possible Causes
Defective pressure switch, Blocked air trap, Loose wiring to pressure switch, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before removing any panels.
- Locate the pressure switch: On many Gorenje models it is mounted on the side of the tub or base, connected by a small rubber hose to the sump or air chamber.
- Check the hose: Remove the hose from the switch and the chamber. Rinse it and blow through to ensure it is clear. Replace if brittle or cracked.
- Clean the air chamber: Remove the plastic chamber from the tub wall and wash out grease and limescale deposits that can trap air and give false readings.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the connector on the pressure switch is firmly seated and that no wires are broken or corroded.
- Advanced test: With a multimeter, check the switch contacts while gently blowing into the hose connection. If the contacts do not change state, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.
If a new pressure switch does not clear E6, the main control board may be misreading the signal and require professional diagnosis.
