Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Worn or broken door lock assembly, Bent door strike, Faulty door switch microswitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting the door latch or working near live wiring.
- 1. Check door closure: Close the door firmly and see if it feels loose or fails to click. Inspect the door gasket for obstructions preventing full closure.
- 2. Inspect latch and strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the tub and the latch mechanism on the door. Look for cracks, wear, or misalignment.
- 3. Adjust strike position: If the strike is adjustable, loosen its screws slightly and move it so the latch engages more deeply, then retighten.
- 4. Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the Haier door lock assembly. Use a multimeter to test the microswitch for continuity when the latch is engaged. Replace the door lock assembly if the switch is intermittent or open.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Refit the door panel, restore power, and start a cycle to confirm F1 is cleared.
Warning: Do not force the door closed; this can damage hinges and the tub frame.
