Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply.

Check spray arms first: Remove the upper and lower spray arms. Rinse them under running water and clear any blocked jets with a toothpick. Ensure they spin freely when reinstalled.
Access the diverter assembly: From the bottom of the dishwasher, locate the diverter valve/motor attached to the sump or circulation pump outlet.
Inspect for obstructions: Remove the diverter cover if possible and check for debris preventing the movement of the internal disc or flap.
Test the diverter motor: With power off, disconnect the motor and measure resistance across its terminals. Compare to service specifications; an open circuit indicates failure.
Check wiring: Ensure the harness to the diverter is intact and firmly connected.

If the diverter motor is faulty or the valve body is damaged, replace the diverter assembly. Complex access may warrant a professional repair.
