Safety first: Disconnect mains power and close the water tap.

Locate regeneration valve: Access the base or side of the dishwasher to find the small valve controlling water to the softener unit.
Check wiring and coil: Inspect the valve coil and connector. Measure coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
Clean regeneration channel: If accessible, flush the regeneration channel and surrounding area to remove salt deposits.
Board output: If the valve is good but never energizes, the control board output may be faulty and require replacement.

Because E19 affects water softening and long-term performance, correct the fault promptly to avoid limescale buildup.
