Unpleasant smell from dishwasher, especially when opening the door after it has been unused for a while.

Possible Causes

Dirty filters and sump, Grease build‑up in hoses and pump, Standing water in low spots of hose, Food residues trapped in door seal folds

Cleaning routine:

Remove and thoroughly clean all filters with hot soapy water.
Wipe around the door seal and bottom of the door with a cloth and mild detergent.
Run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar on the top rack.
Leave the door slightly ajar between uses to allow ventilation.

If odour persists, consider having the drain hose and sump professionally cleaned or replaced.
