Possible Causes
No non-return valve in Maidaid drain line, blocked sink trap causing backflow, incorrect hose height, faulty internal check valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on plumbing.
- Inspect sink trap: Clean the sink trap and ensure water flows freely to prevent back pressure.
- Check hose routing: Ensure the Maidaid drain hose has a high loop and is not submerged in standing water in the trap.
- Fit non-return valve: Install a suitable non-return valve in the drain line if not already present.
- Internal check valve: If fitted, inspect and clean the Maidaid internal check valve near the pump outlet. Replace if it does not close properly.
