Possible Causes

Failed Maidaid safety thermostat, stuck heating relay causing overheating, blocked circulation causing localized overheating, faulty temperature sensor.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power and allow the machine to cool completely before touching internal components.

  • Check for overheating signs: Look for steam, a very hot door, or tripped external safety devices.
  • Locate safety thermostat: On many Maidaid models, a manual-reset safety thermostat is mounted on the tank or boiler. Press the reset button if present.
  • Inspect circulation: Ensure the Maidaid wash pump is operating and that filters and spray arms are not blocked, which can cause localized overheating.
  • Test thermostat: With a multimeter, check continuity across the safety thermostat. Replace if it does not reset or remains open at normal temperatures.
  • Check heater control: If the heater remains energized when it should be off, the control board heater relay may be welded closed. This requires replacement of the PCB by a qualified technician.
