Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or hose, faulty pressure switch or level sensor, stuck water inlet valve, control board not closing inlet valve.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply. Mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
- Inspect tank for overfill: Open the door and check if the water level is above the normal operating level (usually just below the tank overflow).
- Clean pressure system: Remove side or front panels (depending on the Maidaid model) to access the pressure chamber and the thin pressure hose. Detach the hose from the pressure switch and blow through it to clear blockages. Rinse the chamber if accessible.
- Check inlet valve operation: With power off, inspect the Maidaid inlet valve for signs of debris or scale preventing it from closing. If the valve continues to pass water when de-energized, it must be replaced.
- Test pressure switch: Using a multimeter, check continuity on the Maidaid pressure switch while gently blowing into the pressure port. The contacts should change state. If they do not, replace the switch/level sensor.
- If overfill persists: The control PCB may be energizing the valve incorrectly. This requires a qualified Maidaid technician to diagnose and replace the control board.
