Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump impeller, Blocked drain hose or standpipe, Faulty Maidaid drain pump motor, Obstructed tank drain filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Water in the tank may be hot; wear gloves.
- Manually drain: Open the door and use a jug or container to remove as much standing water as possible into a bucket.
- Clean tank filter: Remove the Maidaid tank filter and strainer basket. Rinse thoroughly to remove food debris, glass, or limescale.
- Inspect drain pump: Access the pump from the front or underside. Remove the pump cover and check for foreign objects (glass, labels, food) jamming the impeller. Rotate the impeller by hand to ensure it spins freely.
- Check drain hose: Follow the Maidaid drain hose to the waste connection. Ensure it is not kinked or crushed. Detach from the sink trap and flush through with water to clear blockages.
- Test pump electrically: With the pump disconnected, measure coil resistance. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a failed pump. Replace the Maidaid drain pump if defective.
- Reassemble and test: Refit all parts, restore power, and run a drain or short cycle to confirm that water is pumped out and E4 does not reappear.
