Possible Causes
Blocked condenser coil, Failed exhaust fan, Faulty exhaust temperature sensor, Blocked condensate drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the machine and condenser to cool. Wear gloves; surfaces may be sharp and greasy.
- Clean condenser surfaces: Access the steam condenser or heat recovery unit. Remove panels and clean fins and channels of grease and scale using approved cleaning agents.
- Check exhaust fan operation: Verify that the exhaust fan runs when commanded. Listen for bearing noise or imbalance. Measure motor resistance and replace the fan assembly if defective.
- Inspect exhaust temperature sensor: Locate the sensor in the exhaust duct. Check resistance and wiring. Replace if readings are out of range.
- Clear condensate drain: Ensure the condensate drain from the condenser is not blocked. Clean the trap and tubing to prevent water backing up into the unit.
- Test system: After cleaning and repairs, run the machine and monitor exhaust performance. If E20 persists, further diagnostics by a Meiko technician are recommended.
