Possible Causes
Faulty water softener valve, Blocked salt tank or brine chamber, Defective regeneration flow meter, Wiring fault to softener components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before internal inspection.
- Check salt level: Open the salt reservoir in the base of the tub and ensure it is filled with dishwasher salt (not table salt). Wipe away any spilled salt from the tub.
- Inspect for salt bridging: Use a wooden spoon handle to gently break up any hardened salt bridge inside the reservoir.
- Run a regeneration cycle: Start a normal or intensive program to allow the softener to regenerate. Observe if E10 reappears.
- Internal checks: If the error persists, the softener valve or associated flow meter may be defective. These are mounted on or near the side of the tub and connected to the softener tank.
- Professional service: Replacement of the softener valve or tank assembly requires careful sealing and is best performed by a technician.
