Possible Causes
Empty salt reservoir, incorrect water hardness setting, insufficient rinse aid, overdosing or underdosing detergent.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for this issue.
- Step 1 – Check salt:
- Open the salt compartment and ensure it is filled with dishwasher salt.
- Top up if low, and wipe away any spilled salt from the tub.
- Step 2 – Water hardness setting:
- Refer to your Siemens manual to set the correct water hardness level based on your local water supply.
- Step 3 – Rinse aid:
- Ensure the rinse aid dispenser is filled, and adjust the dosage setting if spotting persists.
- Step 4 – Detergent:
- Use a good-quality detergent and follow the recommended amount; too much can leave residue, while too little can cause poor cleaning.
- Step 5 – Descale:
- If heavy limescale is present, run a descaling cycle with a Siemens-approved descaler.
After making adjustments, run a hot cycle with clean dishes to confirm that the white film no longer appears.
