Machine shows E16 and may stop; often occurs when the machine overheats or runs with insufficient water.

Safety: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool fully before resetting any safety devices.

• Reset safety thermostat: Locate the manual-reset high-limit thermostat on the tank or booster. Press the reset button until it clicks.
• Check water level: Ensure the machine fills to the correct level. Clean level sensors and pressure hoses as needed.
• Verify pump operation: Confirm that the wash pump runs strongly and that water circulates through the spray arms. Repair or replace the pump if not.
• Inspect for scale: Heavy limescale on heaters can cause hot spots. Descale the tank and heaters using an approved descaler.

If E16 recurs frequently, have a technician verify thermostat calibration and control logic.
