Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked condenser or heat exchanger, Overloaded drum, Faulty humidity sensor strips
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before internal cleaning.
- 1. Clean lint filter: Remove the main lint filter and any secondary filters. Wash with warm water and mild detergent, dry thoroughly, and reinstall.
- 2. Clean condenser/heat exchanger: Open the lower front flap, remove the condenser unit, and rinse under warm running water until clear. Allow to drain and dry before refitting.
- 3. Check load size: Avoid overloading; fill the drum only about two-thirds full so air can circulate.
- 4. Clean humidity sensors: Locate the two metal strips inside the drum (usually near the lint filter). Wipe them with a cloth dampened with white vinegar to remove fabric softener residue.
- 5. Verify room conditions: Ensure the room is not extremely cold and that there is adequate ventilation around the dryer.
- 6. When to call a technician: If drying remains poor, the heater, compressor (heat pump models), or sensors may require professional testing.
