Loose UI ribbon cable, Corroded console connector, Failed UI board, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening the console.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the console and carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the UI and main control.
- Inspect connectors: Look for corrosion, bent pins, or damage. Clean gently if needed.
- Power reset: Leave the dryer unplugged for 5 minutes, then restore power and test.
If E6 persists, either the UI board or main control is defective and should be replaced following Amana’s service procedures.
