Display shows DOOR or door icon; dryer will not start.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before adjusting the door or replacing the lock.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and that no clothing is trapped in the seal or latch area.
• Inspect latch and strike: Examine the plastic door catch on the door and the metal or plastic strike on the cabinet. Replace if cracked or worn.
• Test door switch: Gently press around the door frame while trying to start a cycle (with power connected). If the dryer starts intermittently, the lock may be loose or failing.
• Replace door lock: Remove the front panel or door seal clamp to access the door interlock. Disconnect wiring, remove mounting screws, and install a new Ariston door lock assembly.
