Possible Causes
Faulty ambient NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector, Damaged wiring to the auxiliary sensor, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from the mains before accessing internal components.
Steps to check and fix:
- Locate the ambient sensor: On some Balay dryers, an additional NTC sensor is located near the air intake or control panel area to monitor room temperature.
- Inspect connections: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly attached and free of corrosion.
- Measure resistance: Test the sensor with a multimeter at room temperature and compare it with the specification. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Check wiring harness: Look for pinched or broken wires between the sensor and the main PCB. Repair as needed.
- Control board diagnosis: If a known-good sensor and wiring still result in E14, the control board's sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
