Possible Causes
Intermittent door interlock contacts, Loose door lock connector, Faulty wiring between door lock and PCB, Defective main control PCB safety circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the top or front panel.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and latches positively. Adjust the door catch if necessary.
- Inspect door lock assembly: Access the door interlock from behind the front panel. Check for signs of overheating, cracking, or loose mounting.
- Secure connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the door lock plug several times to clean the contacts. Ensure it is fully seated and that the locking tabs engage.
- Check wiring harness: Follow the harness from the door lock to the main PCB, looking for pinched, broken, or burnt wires. Repair any damage and secure the harness away from sharp edges.
- Test lock operation: With the dryer reassembled and powered, start a cycle and listen for the door lock to engage. If E08 reappears and the lock does not engage, the lock may be faulty and should be replaced. If the lock engages but the error persists, the PCB may be at fault.
