Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Faulty user interface PCB, Damaged control knob encoder, Firmware communication error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. This can clear temporary communication errors.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the top cover and front control fascia. Check the ribbon cable or harness between the user interface board and the main control board. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of moisture ingress or detergent spills on the control panel. Dry carefully and clean with a slightly damp cloth if needed.
- Test buttons and knob: Verify that all buttons click properly and the program selector knob turns smoothly. A faulty encoder or stuck button can cause E11. Replace the user interface module if necessary.
- Board replacement: If wiring is intact and E11 persists, either the UI board or main PCB may be defective. Replacement should follow De Dietrich service procedures and may require configuration.
