Possible Causes
Restricted exhaust vent, Lint buildup in lint housing or blower, Dirty moisture sensor bars, Weak heating element or cycling thermostat out of calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.
- Clean lint filter and housing:
- Clean the lint screen after every load.
- Vacuum inside the lint filter housing.
- Inspect and clean venting:
- Disconnect the vent hose and clean it thoroughly.
- Clean the wall duct and outside vent hood.
- Test with vent disconnected:
- Run a timed dry cycle with the vent temporarily disconnected (in a safe, ventilated area).
- If drying improves, the house vent is restricted.
- Clean moisture sensor bars:
- Wipe the sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol to remove residue.
- Check heating system:
- If airflow and sensors are good, test the heating element and cycling thermostat for proper operation and replace if weak or faulty.
