Possible Causes
Drive belt snapped, Belt slipped off idler pulley, Worn idler pulley causing belt misalignment, Overloaded drum causing belt failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening the cabinet.
- Check drum movement: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. If it spins very freely with little resistance, the belt may be broken.
- Inspect belt: Remove the top and front panel to view the belt around the drum. If broken or off the pulleys, replace it.
- Check idler pulley and rollers: Spin the idler pulley and drum rollers by hand. Replace any that are noisy or stiff to prevent premature belt wear.
- Install new belt: Route the new Haier-specific belt around the drum, motor pulley, and idler pulley according to the service diagram. Ensure proper tension.
