Possible Causes

Broken or slipped drive belt, Seized drum roller or bearing, Faulty motor start capacitor, Failed drive motor.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always unplug the dryer before removing the top, side, or rear panels.

  • Check drum rotation by hand: With the door open, try to spin the drum. If it is jammed, suspect faulty bearings or foreign objects.
  • Inspect belt: Remove the top cover and look for a loose or broken belt. Replace with the correct Hansa belt if it is damaged.
  • Check rollers and idler: Access the drum supports and the idler pulley. Replace any seized or heavily worn components.
  • Test motor capacitor: Locate and test the capacitor with a multimeter. Replace if it is out of specification or swollen.

If the belt and mechanical parts are fine but the motor only hums, the motor windings may be faulty, and the motor assembly should be replaced.
