Safety first: Always unplug the dryer before accessing internal components.

• Check earth/ground connection: Verify that the power outlet has a proper earth connection. Inspect the dryer's power cord and the internal earth wire from the terminal block to the chassis.
• Inspect drum grounding: Some Hansa dryers use a grounding brush or strap contacting the drum. Access the side or rear panel and locate this component. Ensure it presses firmly on the drum and is not excessively worn.
• Clean contact area: Lightly clean the drum surface where the brush makes contact to remove oxidation or residue.

If grounding components are damaged, replace the drum grounding brush or strap. Persistent E16 may indicate a fault in the sensor circuit on the main PCB.
