Possible Causes
Severely blocked vent, Failed high-limit thermostat stuck closed, Stuck heater relay on PCB, Excessive lint inside cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately disconnect power. Do not continue using the dryer until the cause is found and corrected.
- Inspect and clean venting: Completely remove and clean the exhaust duct from dryer to exterior. Replace any crushed or foil-type ducts with rigid or semi-rigid metal ducting.
- Deep clean interior: Remove front and rear panels, drum (if necessary), and thoroughly vacuum lint from all internal areas, including heater housing and motor compartment.
- Test safety devices: Check the high-limit thermostat and thermal cut-off for proper operation. Replace any that are open or show signs of overheating.
- Evaluate PCB: If the heater appears to stay energized when it should be off, the main PCB heater relay may be welded closed. PCB replacement is recommended via a professional.
