E4
The control panel displays E4, and the smoker will not start heating; this sometimes appears after a power surge or storm.
Control Board Overvoltage/Undervoltage Protection
E5
The control panel displays E5, and the smoker shuts down or refuses to start; the fan and display may still work, but there is no heat.
Overheat / High-Temperature Safety Trip
E6
The control panel displays E6, and the smoker will not heat; this sometimes appears immediately when turning the unit on.
Heating Element Circuit Fault
E7
The control panel displays E7, and the smoker fan does not run; the temperature may be uneven, or the unit may shut down.
Convection Fan Motor Fault
E8
The control panel displays E8, and the smoker powers on, but buttons do not respond or respond intermittently.
Touch Control Panel / Keypad Communication Error
E9
The control panel displays E9, and the smoker shuts off unexpectedly or will not stay powered on.
Internal Power Supply / Low Voltage Error
F1
The display shows F1, and the smoker beeps continuously; cooking cannot be started.
General Control Board Fault / Firmware Error
F2
The display shows F2, and the timer or temperature cannot be adjusted correctly; values jump or change on their own.
Keypad / Encoder Input Fault
F3
The display shows F3, and the smoker shuts off mid-cook; this may coincide with tripping a household breaker.
Overcurrent / Short Circuit Protection
F4
The display shows F4, and the smoker will not start; a door icon may flash on the display.
Door Switch / Door Ajar Fault
F5
The display shows F5, and the smoker beeps; the timer may reset or freeze during operation.
Internal Clock / Timer Circuit Fault
H1
The display shows H1 or 'HI', and the temperature reading is stuck at maximum; the smoker may shut down or refuse to start a new cycle.
Temperature Reading Above Safe Limit
L1
The display shows L1 or 'LO', and the smoker will not reach the set temperature; the temperature reading may be stuck very low.
Temperature Reading Below Range / Sensor Out-of-Range Low
P1
The display shows P1, and the smoker will not start the cooking cycle; timer and temperature settings may be locked.
Child Lock / Panel Lock Active
Symptom
Buttons on the control panel do not respond or require very hard presses to register.
Unresponsive Keypad
Symptom
Condensation builds up excessively on the door glass and drips out during cooking.
Excess Moisture / Condensation
Symptom
Digital display is dim, flickering, or some segments are missing, but the smoker still heats.
Display Module Degradation
Symptom
Door glass cracks or shatters during or after a cooking cycle.
Glass Door Thermal Stress Failure
Symptom
Excessive smoke leaks from around the door, seams, or vent; smoke may enter nearby living spaces.
Smoke Leakage
Symptom
Rust spots appear inside the smoker cabinet or on racks.
Corrosion / Finish Degradation
Symptom
Smoker cabinet exterior becomes excessively hot to the touch during normal operation.
Insulation / Heat Shield Degradation
Symptom
Smoker cabinet rocks, wobbles, or feels unstable when opening the door or loading food.
Cabinet Instability / Leg or Caster Issue
Symptom
Smoker door does not seal properly; smoke and heat leak around the edges of the door.
Door Seal / Gasket Failure
Symptom
Smoker heats but cannot reach or maintain the set temperature; it stalls well below the target even in mild weather.

Runaway Heating / Overheating
Symptom
Smoker powers on but will not heat; display and fan work, but the heating element stays cold.
No Heat / Open Heating Circuit
Symptom
Smoker produces too much thick, bitter smoke; food tastes acrid and dark.
Excessive Smoke / Incomplete Combustion
Symptom
Smoker produces very little or no smoke even when wood chips are loaded; food cooks but lacks smoky flavor.
Insufficient Smoke Production
Symptom
Smoker temperature swings widely, with large overshoots and drops; difficult to maintain a stable cooking temperature.
Erratic Temperature Control
Symptom
Smoker trips the household breaker or GFCI as soon as it is turned on or shortly after heating begins.
