Possible Causes
RF interference from nearby equipment, Metal objects behind or around the charger affecting the antenna, Aging or damaged RFID antenna, Loose RFID module connection.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing the RFID module.
- Step 1 – Remove interference sources: Keep high-power RF devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, DECT phones) and large metal objects away from the immediate vicinity of the charger front.
- Step 2 – Test multiple cards: Some cards have weaker antennas; test with another known-good card.
- Step 3 – Reseat RFID module: With power OFF, reseat the RFID module and ensure it is correctly positioned behind the front panel.
- Step 4 – Check mounting height: Ensure the charger is mounted at the recommended height so users can present cards flat to the reader.
- Step 5 – Replace module if needed: Persistent weak reading suggests a failing RFID antenna or module.
