Possible Causes
Loose mounting of the output contactor, vibrating transformer or inductor in the power module, AC line harmonics causing coil buzz, worn contactor armature.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Some low-level hum is normal, but loud or new noises should be investigated.
- Step 1 – Identify source: Remove the front cover (with power off) and then power on while carefully listening to locate the noise source (contactor vs. power module).
- Step 2 – Tighten mounts: With the power off, tighten mounting screws for the BougeRV output contactor and any large inductors or transformers.
- Step 3 – Inspect contactor: Look for signs of wear or misalignment in the contactor armature. Replace the BougeRV output contactor if buzzing is excessive or intermittent.
- Step 4 – Check line voltage: Verify that the supply voltage is within spec; undervoltage can increase coil buzz.
