Possible Causes
Contamination or moisture on front panel, Faulty touch sensor IC on HMI board, Electrical noise affecting touch sensing, Loose HMI ground connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not use solvents on the front panel; they may damage the surface.
- Clean the panel: Wipe the front surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
- Avoid gloves: Some touch panels are less responsive with thick gloves; try bare fingers.
- Reduce electrical noise: Ensure the charger’s supply is properly grounded and that no high-frequency devices are mounted directly adjacent.
- Use app control: If available, use the BYD app to start/stop charging as a workaround.
- Replace HMI board: If touch remains unreliable, the touch sensor circuitry may need replacement.
