Possible Causes

Vehicle requesting unsupported current, Noise on pilot line, Faulty pilot duty cycle generation on control board, Poor connection at vehicle inlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not open the vehicle inlet; focus on EVSE and connector inspection. Turn OFF the breaker before opening the EVSE.

  • Try another EV: Connect a different vehicle to see if the behavior is specific to one car.
  • Inspect J1772 pins: Look for oxidation or dirt on the pilot and power pins. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
  • Check cable routing: Avoid running the EVSE cable parallel to high-noise sources (e.g., large motors) that could induce interference.
  • Board inspection (advanced): With power OFF, inspect the control board for damage around the pilot driver components.

If multiple vehicles exhibit the same flashing CHARGING LED behavior, the control board pilot circuit is likely faulty and should be replaced.
