Possible Causes

Shorted contactor coil, Shorted MOV or surge component, Pinched conductor against metal enclosure, Water ingress causing tracking between live parts

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Turn OFF the breaker and leave it OFF until the fault is found.

  • Inspect for water ingress: Check the top of the Grizzl‑E enclosure and cable entry points for signs of water. If moisture is present inside, the unit must be dried and the source of ingress corrected (e.g., failed gasket).
  • Look for obvious shorts: With cover removed and power OFF, inspect wiring for crushed insulation or conductors touching the metal case.
  • Check surge components: Examine MOVs and surge modules for cracking or charring.
  • Test contactor coil: If equipped and you are qualified, measure coil resistance; a near‑zero reading indicates a shorted coil.
  • Resolution: Replace any damaged components (contactor, MOVs, wiring) or the entire main control board if the short is on the PCB.
