Possible Causes
Disconnected RS-485 or CAN bus wiring between JuiceBox units, Incorrect load sharing configuration in app, Address conflict between chargers, Failed communication transceiver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to all linked chargers before modifying communication wiring.
- Verify wiring topology: Confirm that the load sharing communication cable (RS-485/CAN) is daisy-chained correctly between units and that polarity (A/B or CAN-H/CAN-L) is consistent.
- Check termination: Ensure that termination resistors are installed only at the ends of the bus, per JuiceBox installation guidelines.
- Review configuration: In the management app or web portal, verify that each charger has a unique address/ID and that they are assigned to the same load group with correct maximum aggregate current.
- Isolate the fault: Disconnect all but two chargers and test. Add units one by one to identify if a specific charger is causing E16. That unit may have a failed communication transceiver on its main board.
- Board repair: If one unit consistently triggers E16 when added, its main control board or communication daughterboard likely needs replacement.
