Possible Causes
Missing phase at supply, Incorrect phase sequence (L1/L2/L3 swapped), Loose phase conductor in terminal block, Faulty phase monitoring circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only a qualified electrician should work on 3-phase connections. Isolate the supply before opening the terminal compartment.
- Measure phase voltages: Verify presence of all three phases and correct line-to-line voltages at the charger’s input terminals.
- Check phase order: Some Mennekes chargers monitor phase rotation. Confirm that L1, L2, and L3 are connected according to the installation manual. Correct any miswiring.
- Tighten terminals: With power OFF, tighten all phase conductors to the specified torque. Look for signs of overheating or discoloration.
- Phase monitor circuit: If supply is correct and wiring is tight, the internal phase monitoring circuit on the main PCB or a dedicated phase monitor module may be defective and require replacement.
