Possible Causes

Internal SPD module triggered or damaged by surge, Incorrect earthing causing SPD misoperation, Repeated small surges degrading SPD over time

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Surges can compromise insulation. Have the installation inspected if E07 appears.

  • Visual inspection (technician): With power OFF and cover removed, locate the surge protection device inside the Mini charger (often a small module connected between phases and earth). Check for discoloration, cracking, or indicator flags showing end-of-life.
  • Check earthing: Verify that the earth conductor is securely connected to the charger’s earth terminal and that the building earth system is intact.
  • Replace SPD module: If the SPD has reached end-of-life, it must be replaced with an identical Mini-approved part. Do not bypass the SPD.
  • Power cycle: After SPD replacement and reassembly, restore power and confirm that E07 is cleared.

If E07 remains after SPD replacement, the main control board may also have been damaged by the surge and require replacement.
