The display shows garbled characters, a blank screen, or an 'LCD ERROR' message; the EVSE may still function via Wi-Fi.

Safety first: Turn off power before opening the enclosure.

• Step 1 – Check backlight: In a dark room, look for any faint glow from the LCD. If the backlight is on but no text is visible, the data lines may be disconnected.
• Step 2 – Reseat cable: Open the enclosure and carefully reseat the LCD ribbon or header connector on both the LCD and the main board.
• Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the LCD glass or burn marks on the module. Replace the LCD if physically damaged.
• Step 4 – Test via Wi-Fi: If the EVSE operates normally via the web interface, the main board is likely fine, and only the LCD or its connection needs replacement.
• Step 5 – Replace LCD or board: If reseating does not help, replace the LCD module. If a new LCD still fails, the LCD driver on the main board may be defective; replace the main board.
