How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: A welded contactor can leave the output live even when the charger indicates ‘off’. Turn off the upstream breaker before touching the cable or opening the unit.
- Verify de-energization: Ensure the breaker feeding the Webasto charger is off and locked out if possible.
- Do not use charger: If E08 is present, discontinue use until the contactor is inspected and replaced.
- Professional inspection: A technician should check the contactor for mechanical movement and measure continuity across its contacts when de-energized.
- Replace contactor: If welded or stiff, replace with the Webasto-approved contactor model. Inspect and retorque all power terminals to manufacturer specs.
