Interior Light Circuit Failure
Freezer interior light not working but cooling is normal
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Blown LED module or bulb, Faulty door switch, Broken light wiring, Control board not supplying power to light output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before working on the light or switch.
Steps:
- 1. Check door switch: Press the switch manually and see if the light flickers or comes on (when briefly powered for testing). Replace if intermittent.
- 2. Inspect light module: Remove the light cover and check for obvious damage or discoloration of the LED module or bulb.
- 3. Replace light: Fit a genuine AEG LED light module or bulb of the correct rating.
- 4. Wiring check: If the new light does not work, inspect wiring from the switch to the light and to the control board for breaks.
If wiring and components are good but the light output from the PCB is dead, the control board may need replacement.
