Possible Causes
Door left open or frequently opened, warm food recently loaded, failed door gasket on Avanti freezer door, weak compressor, or low refrigerant charge.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Check food safety. If items have thawed significantly, discard them per food safety guidelines.
Steps:
- Confirm Door Closure: Make sure nothing is blocking the door from closing fully (e.g., protruding food packages or shelves).
- Inspect Gasket: Run a thin strip of paper around the door seal; if it pulls out easily anywhere, the gasket may not be sealing. Clean the gasket and door frame. Replace the door gasket if torn or deformed.
- Allow Pull-Down Time: If you just loaded a large quantity of unfrozen food, the alarm is normal. Allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.
- Check Compressor Operation: Listen for the compressor running. If it is off for long periods while the interior is warm, there may be a control or compressor issue.
- Ventilation: Ensure the freezer has adequate clearance around the sides and back per Avanti installation instructions. Overheating can reduce cooling capacity.
- Professional Service: If the unit runs continuously but cannot reach the set temperature, a sealed system problem is likely and requires a technician.
