Display shows dF or similar; the freezer is in defrost mode longer than normal, and the temperature temporarily rises.

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing internal components.

• Confirm if this is a normal indication: Some Bauknecht models briefly show dF during automatic defrost. Consult the user manual to see if this is expected.
• Check frost level: If heavy frost is present on the evaporator cover, perform a full manual defrost by unplugging the unit and leaving the door open until all ice melts. Protect the floor from water.
• Inspect defrost sensor: If dF remains or defrost seems excessive, check the evaporator NTC and defrost thermostat for correct operation as described in other entries.
• Power cycle: After defrosting and reassembling, restore power and monitor operation. If the unit repeatedly stays in defrost or shows dF abnormally, the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
