Possible Causes

Stuck relay on the main PCB, shorted temperature sensor causing a low reading, faulty control algorithm in the PCB, incorrect sensor placement touching the evaporator.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or control boards.

  • Verify setpoint: Confirm the temperature setting is not at the coldest level or in Super Freeze mode.
  • Check sensor placement: Ensure the freezer NTC sensor is correctly clipped in its holder and not directly touching the evaporator coil, which can cause falsely low readings.
  • Compare with thermometer: Place a separate thermometer inside to confirm the actual temperature.
  • Test sensor: Measure the NTC resistance and compare it to the specification. Replace if out of range.
  • Control board: If the sensor is correct but the compressor never cycles off, the main PCB relay may be stuck closed. Board replacement is required and should be done by a technician.
