Normal Pressure Equalization / Check Valve Behavior
Freezer door difficult to open immediately after closing, feeling like a vacuum.

Possible Causes
Tight door gasket seal, rapid temperature change inside the cabinet, no pressure equalization valve, or a blocked valve.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No electrical work is required.
Steps:
- Understand behavior: A temporary vacuum making the door hard to open for a few minutes after closing is often normal as warm air cools and contracts.
- Wait a moment: Allow 1–2 minutes before reopening the door.
- Check gasket: Ensure the gasket is not excessively sticky; clean with mild detergent.
- If the problem is extreme and persistent, the pressure equalization valve (if fitted) may be blocked and should be inspected and replaced by a technician.
