Possible Causes
Frozen defrost drain, Misaligned drain trough, Excessive frost from the door being left open, Cracked interior liner near the drain.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer and remove food to access the bottom area safely.
- Remove ice and water: Use towels and a plastic scraper to remove standing water and ice from the floor of the freezer.
- Defrost the drain: Remove the rear interior panel and gently melt any ice around the drain trough and hole using a hair dryer on a low setting. Do not use sharp tools.
- Flush the drain: Once clear, flush the drain with warm water until it flows freely to the external drain pan.
- Prevent recurrence: Ensure the door closes properly and is not left ajar. Replace any damaged door gaskets or hinges.
