Freezer door will not stay closed or pops open

Safety first: Prevent the door from slamming; glass containers inside may break.

• Check for obstructions: Rearrange food so that no items protrude and contact the door when closing.
• Inspect gasket: Look for gaps between the gasket and cabinet. Replace the gasket if it is torn, deformed, or hardened.
• Adjust hinges: Loosen hinge screws slightly and adjust the door so it is level and square with the cabinet, then retighten.
• Check leveling: Ensure the front of the freezer is slightly higher than the rear so the door closes by gravity.
