• Step 1 – Locate ambient thermistor: On many Gladiator freezers, the ambient or cabinet thermistor is located near the control housing or behind the front grille. Consult the tech sheet (often behind the kick plate) for the exact location.
• Step 2 – Inspect connections: Ensure the thermistor plug is fully seated in the control board connector. Look for corrosion or moisture.
• Step 3 – Test thermistor: Unplug the thermistor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare it to the specification. Replace if open, shorted, or out of tolerance.
• Step 4 – Replace harness or board: If the thermistor tests good, inspect the harness for damage. If the wiring is intact, the electronic control board is likely faulty and should be replaced.
