Possible Causes
Door not fully closed, Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Excessive warm food load, Failed evaporator fan or compressor issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door is closed to prevent condensation and slipping hazards.
- Check door closure: Verify that baskets or food packages are not preventing the door from sealing. Adjust contents as needed.
- Inspect gasket: Clean and inspect the door gasket for damage. Replace if torn or deformed.
- Test door switch: On models with a mechanical switch, press it by hand and listen for the alarm to stop. If it does not, test the switch for continuity and replace if faulty. On models with a magnetic reed switch, ensure the magnet in the door is present and aligned.
- Allow cool-down: If the alarm is due to high temperature after loading warm food, allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.
- Further diagnosis: If the alarm persists with a closed door and a normal load, check the evaporator fan, compressor, and sealed system as you would for a high temperature fault.
