Possible Causes
Door left open, Door gasket not sealing, Warm food load raising the temperature, Faulty door switch, Faulty temperature sensor or control board misinterpreting conditions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Protect food by checking actual product temperature; move it to another freezer if necessary.
Steps:
- Confirm door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and not obstructed by baskets or oversized items.
- Inspect gasket: Check the door gasket for damage or debris. Clean and reseat as needed.
- Silence alarm: Use the alarm mute button (if available) to silence it while troubleshooting.
- Check door switch: Verify that the interior light turns off when the door is closed. Replace the door switch if it fails.
- Monitor temperature: Use a separate freezer thermometer to verify the actual temperature. If the display is inaccurate, test and replace the cabinet thermistor as needed.
Note: After a power outage or a door left open, the alarm may sound until the freezer cools back to the setpoint.
