Insufficient Cooling / Airflow Problem
The freezer is too warm; the temperature fluctuates, and food is soft or thawing.

Possible Causes
Evaporator fan not running, dirty condenser coils, leaking door gasket, or a temperature sensor out of calibration.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or accessing fans.
- Check door seal: Inspect the gasket for gaps or tears. Perform the paper test around the door perimeter. Replace the door gasket if it fails to hold paper firmly.
- Clean condenser: Remove the front or rear grill and vacuum dust from the condenser coils. Use a coil brush if heavily soiled.
- Verify fan operation: Listen for the evaporator fan when the compressor is running. If silent, refer to the evaporator fan motor repair steps (E8).
- Check temperature setting: Ensure the control is set to the recommended freezer temperature (around 0°F / -18°C).
If airflow and sealing are good but the freezer still runs warm, a sensor or sealed system issue may exist and should be evaluated by a technician.
