Possible Causes
Child lock feature enabled, stuck or damaged keypad buttons, or a faulty display PCB.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical repair risk for this procedure.
- Disable child lock: On many Montpellier freezers, press and hold the lock key or a combination (e.g., Up + Down arrows) for 3–5 seconds until the lock icon disappears. Refer to the user manual for the exact combination for your model.
- Test buttons: After unlocking, press each button to ensure it responds. If some buttons remain unresponsive, the keypad or display PCB may be faulty.
- Power reset: Unplug the freezer for 5 minutes, then reconnect to clear any keypad glitches.
If the lock indicator will not clear or buttons remain dead, the display/control PCB may need replacement by a service technician.
