Possible Causes
Freezer thermistor out of calibration, stuck relay on main PCB, incorrect temperature setting, ambient sensor error.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps:
- 1. Verify settings: Confirm that the temperature is not set to the coldest level. Adjust to a warmer setting and monitor for 24 hours.
- 2. Check sensor placement: Ensure the freezer thermistor is properly clipped to the evaporator or liner and is not touching the heater or exposed to warm air leaks.
- 3. Calibrate with thermometer: Place an accurate freezer thermometer inside and compare its readings to the display. A large discrepancy suggests sensor or control issues.
- 4. Replace thermistor: If the sensor is suspected, install a new Panasonic freezer thermistor.
- 5. If still overcooling: The main PCB relay may be stuck in the 'on' position; board replacement is required.
