Possible Causes
Low or unstable mains voltage, Internal PCB power supply failure, Loose mains connection at terminal block, Faulty line filter or surge suppressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before inspecting electrical connections.
- Check mains outlet: Test the wall socket with another appliance or a multimeter to ensure correct voltage and firm contact.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Access terminal block: Remove the rear cover to inspect where the mains cable connects to the appliance. Tighten any loose screws and check for discoloration.
- Inspect line filter / EMI module: If fitted, check for burnt smell or cracked casing. Replace if visibly damaged.
- PCB power section: Examine the main PCB for burnt components in the power supply area (near where mains enters). If damaged, replace the PCB.
- Use a voltage stabilizer if supply is unstable: In areas with frequent brownouts, a stabilizer can prevent recurring E8 errors.
Test: Restore power and monitor if E8 reappears. If it does despite stable mains, the PCB likely needs replacement.
