Freezer shows E6; compressor may not start or may shut off quickly; interior remains warm.

Safety: Unplug the freezer. Work in a well-ventilated area. Do not attempt to open the sealed compressor.

Steps:

• Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower access panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and capacitor.
• Listen and observe: After reapplying power briefly, listen for clicking from the relay and humming from the compressor. Then unplug again before touching anything.
• Inspect start relay and capacitor: Remove the plastic cover on the compressor terminals. Check for burnt smell, rattling relay, or bulged capacitor.
• Test relay: With a multimeter, check continuity across the relay terminals according to its markings. If it is open when it should be closed or rattles when shaken, replace it.
• Test capacitor: Use a capacitance meter if available. Replace the capacitor if it is out of spec or visibly swollen.
• Replace components: Install a new compressor start relay and/or start capacitor compatible with the Vissani compressor model.
• Re-test: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that the compressor starts and E6 clears.
• Compressor or board issues: If the compressor still fails to start or trips the overload, the compressor itself or the main control board may be defective. These repairs should be handled by a licensed refrigeration technician.
